Register to Chaperone
Chaperones are advisors for student delegate groups. Responsibilities include:
Build or join a team of 5 students (Short on students? Nominate someone!)
Book hotel accommodations with our reservation blocks at Best Western Plus Willmar or Holiday Inn Express & Suites Willmar. You can call the hotels and tell them you are attending AFS for our reservation blocks.
Coordinate and confirm travel arrangements. Civic Bridgers will provide regional "Park & Ride" accommodations with charter buses for student delegation groups. Advisors are also allowed to drive directly to Willmar Convention Center.
Ensure all waivers, liabilities, and media release forms are signed prior to AFS.
Maintain emergency contact information for students in your delegation.
Advise delegation and support strategy development.
Oversee student participation and timeliness at summit and manage students’ off-hours conduct.
(as needed) Lead fundraising efforts for delegation.
Registration fee waived for all chaperones.
NOTE: You are not required to teach in advance. Everything needed for the Summit will be provided for you.
